Mailbox Setup

Mailboxes represent email addresses on your domain that can send and receive emails via Gmail.

Creating a Mailbox

  1. Navigate to your domain's settings page
  2. Click Add Mailbox
  3. Enter the local part of the email address (e.g., sales for sales@yourdomain.com)
  4. Optionally add a display name
  5. An invite link will be generated

Linking a Gmail Account

Each mailbox must be linked to a Gmail account via OAuth2:

  1. Copy the invite link from the mailbox creation confirmation
  2. Send the invite link to the user who owns the Gmail account
  3. User clicks the invite link and authorizes Gmail access
  4. Mailbox is marked as "connected" and ready to send emails

info OAuth Scopes: Gomailify uses the gmail.insert scope to deliver incoming emails directly to Gmail. This does not allow reading or modifying existing emails.

SMTP Password

After linking a Gmail account, an SMTP password is automatically generated and sent to the connected Gmail account. You'll need this password when configuring Gmail's "Send mail as" feature.

Next Steps

After creating and linking a mailbox, proceed to Gmail Configuration to set up sending emails from your custom domain.

Managing Mailboxes

  • check_circle Reconnect: If a Gmail account's OAuth tokens expire, regenerate an invite link to reconnect
  • check_circle Delete: Remove a mailbox and revoke OAuth access
  • check_circle View Activity: Check delivery status and failed messages
